The engine has been upgraded to a 1500cc and runs like a dream, providing a smooth and powerful driving experience. The car also has a four-speed manual column shift transmission, making it a joy to drive. It has had a new roof fitted and new carpets fitted at some point in its not so distant past.
The body for the Austin A40 Sports was designed and built by Jensen Motors, a British coach-builder that produced bodies for a number of car manufacturers in the mid-20th century. The A40 Sports was one of several models that Austin commissioned from Jensen during the 1940s and 1950s, and it remains one of the most iconic and sought-after Austin sports cars.
